Back to my title for this blog, I write 'hot potatoes',...does it mean that I feel hungry after such a very busy day?? No...hahaha! Hot potatoes is a tool used for making English exercises to be published for our students. First, of course, we must download the 'software' (they call it a software) according to the software that we have, either for Windows, Mac, or Linux. Then, as usual, we must register ourselves with our username and password.
Hot Potatoes consists of five types of exercises, they are: JCloze, JMatch, JQuiz, JCross, and JMix.
The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling us to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is freeware, and we may use it for any purpose or project we want to create (www.hotpot.uvic.ca/). It is not open-source but we do need a very good internet connection in order that the exercises can be uploaded to our browser and then published.
Well, just check out the software that I recommend and I thank to teachers at Sanata Dharma University Jogjakarta, Indonesia who taught me how to create exercises using Hot Potatoes.

Talking of accreditation hunh!!!! well same here.The school I teach in for the past 8 years is having the visitation early next month, and we are all pile of nerves and the hectic situation, with the overload of last minute check-ups are dragging all the energy from me and my fellow colleagues in school. so I do feel with you when you talk of being very busy.

BalasHapusThanks for the comments, yes...we're on similar condition with the accreditation:(( but I must do it as my univ is still very new. It's 3 years old and we need some acknowledgment from people as well as the government.
But I really like to do the matters both, doing the accreditation and this on-line course. Hope you also enjoy doing them too.

When I read that you are still busy with the accreditation thing..I wish it will be happened soon to my university..as you know that Bangka Belitung province is a growing province and also this university..Bangka Belitung University..we are in the progress of applying the accreditation from private univeristy to state one..there are still a lot things to do but I hope in the next two years..we will achieve it..
Thank you for sharing about HOT POTATOES..it will be very useful to make some education games too in order to attract students' attention to do the exercise..
